Cloth instead of paper napkins

Of course, there is one essential thing that cannot be missing from a beautifully decorated table for Christmas: the napkins. But do they always have to be made of paper? A more sustainable alternative would be cloth napkins. On the one hand, these look more elegant and on the other hand, they can be reused after a wash. You can also customize it by embroidering something beautiful to your taste on it.

🎁 Sustainable wrapping paper 🎁
Gifts are often wrapped in colorful and glittering wrapping paper. Unfortunately, synthetic dyes and environmentally harmful printing inks are used for production. It is more environmentally friendly if you wrap your gifts in old newspaper, wrapping paper or reusable fabric . Not only do you make your gifts look special, but you also collect points for your sustainability account.

Craft time: Sustainable decoration

To really get into the Christmas spirit , the Christmas decorations are of course a must! But instead of using store-bought tinsel and other plastic decorations, get creative yourself and make your Christmas decorations from materials that you would otherwise throw away or that are naturally sustainable. Put on your favorite Christmas hits , get some cookies ready and let’s get crafting!

How about, for example, poinsettias made from old toilet paper rolls? For this you need two toilet paper rolls, scissors, a ruler, a hot glue gun and a paint spray.
First, flatten the toilet paper rolls and cut them into 1.5 cm wide “rings”. Then glue the first six “rings” together to form a star using the hot glue gun.
Then attach additional toilet paper roll rings into the six spaces. Then just spray the finished star with a color spray in your favorite color and your recycled poinsettia is ready, which you can now use as a Christmas tree decoration , for example.

Another idea for how you can decorate your living room sustainably: wood, moss or pine cones!
On your next walk, simply collect your decorations as you wish in the park or forest. Maybe you have a great idea how you can use these natural treasures. Let your creativity run wild!
