HERB FOLDED BREAD WITH MELTED TOASTINO

This aromatic herb folded bread is delicious with its spicy herb butter, soft dough and our Toastino, which melts nicely during baking.
Thanks to Toastino, the bread is beautifully crispy on the outside and stays pleasantly fluffy on the inside. Ideal for sharing, dipping or simply enjoying on its own – best fresh from the oven.🥖🧄🧀✨

  • Herb butter

    200 g margarine

    100 g frozen herb mixture

    3 tbsp garlic powder

    1 tsp salt

    1 tsp pepper

    Dough

    1 packet of Toastino

    750 g wheat flour (type 405)

    42 g fresh yeast

    450 ml lukewarm water

    1 tbsp sugar

    2 tbsp olive oil

    2 tsp salt

    1 tsp dried thyme

    1 tsp dried rosemary

    1 tsp basil

    Cut the margarine into slices, add the frozen herb mixture, garlic powder, salt and pepper, and mix everything well with a fork. Set aside – do not refrigerate.

    Für den Teig

    Put the flour in a large bowl and make a well in the centre.

    Crumble the yeast into the well, pour a little lukewarm water over it and mix with a little sugar and flour in the well.

    Pour the rest of the water around the outside and leave the yeast to soak for about 10 minutes.

    Then add the olive oil, salt and dried herbs and knead everything in a food processor (or by hand) for approx. 10 minutes – until the dough comes away easily from the sides of the bowl.

    Cover the dough and leave to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.

    Preheat the oven to 175 °C (top/bottom heat).

    Roll out the dough into a rectangle (approx. 1.5–2 cm thick) on a floured surface. Spread the herb butter and Toastino evenly over the dough.

    Cut the dough in half and cut both halves into 3–4 cm wide strips. Fold these loosely and place them upright next to each other in a greased springform pan.

    Bake the bread for 45 minutes, then bake for another 10 minutes at 200 °C top heat until crispy.

    Serve warm – perfect for dipping, snacking or just on its own! 🥖✨
