Seasonal products July

The motto in July: shelves full of regional products.

The summer month sweetens our hot days with delicious regional fruit and vegetables. The selection and variety of colors are huge! Sweet berries, crunchy salads and young vegetables now end up on our plates - all freshly harvested from our fields. This means that the fruit and vegetable dealers' boxes are lavishly filled. Our fruit plate is also enriched with stone fruits, such as local apricots, peaches and mirabelle plums - this way, for example, you can conjure up great sheet cakes.

In July we have also selected 15 products that you can prepare as free-range products fresh from the field directly in your kitchen! 👩🏼‍🌾

Summer salad with fruit and vegan meatballs

Our recipe idea for July

It's midsummer and a light salad goes perfectly. Our salad recipe is very summery and very fruity. With local tomatoes, cucumbers, peaches and raspberries we conjure up a fruity, fresh well-being salad. There are also grilled skewers. Our Easy To Mixes are just as suitable here as our fresh products. We decided on a mix of Cevapcici, Köttbullar and Frikadelle. The perfect summer meal for hot days and lukewarm evenings.

Peaches are a popular summer snack and are refreshing with their juicy, sweet taste. The stone fruit, of which there are now over 3,000 varieties, contains many nutrients and vitamins, such as calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium as well as B, C and K vitamins. The plant dyes it contains have an immune-strengthening effect. Raspberries are also very healthy. The local superfood is very rich in vitamins and minerals. The red berries are good for the metabolism and strengthen the immune system.

Tomatoes are very low in calories due to their high water content. They also have a positive effect on cholesterol levels and, thanks to lots of vitamin C, strengthen the immune system. They also contain a lot of the antioxidant lycopene, which helps prevent the consequences of oxidative stress, such as cardiovascular diseases, aging problems, rheumatism or visual function. Oxidative stress leads to damage to cells and/or their function through oxygen reactions (caused by an imbalance of oxidative and antioxidant processes).

Here's a little tip too: Don't store the tomatoes in the fridge because they lose their aroma.

Seasonal products in July

Wow! The selection is simply overwhelming. There are so many great fruits, vegetables, salads and herbs. With all the colorful fruit, such as currants, blueberries, mirabelle plums, plums, cherries or peaches, you can prepare delicious fruit salads, cakes or smoothies, among other things. It's really so striking how sweet and aromatic freshly harvested fruit tastes. PS: Prepare a great dessert for the next barbecue party.

You are also spoiled for choice when it comes to outdoor vegetables. For example, you can find freshly harvested eggplants, cucumbers, potatoes and peas on the shelves and boxes of fruit and vegetable stands. We think fresh vegetables are particularly good on the grill - so you can conjure up great side dishes. July is also the month of salads, you can get crispy fresh, among other things: rocket, romaine lettuce, endive lettuce, iceberg lettuce, lettuce and oak leaf lettuce. When it's so warm and humid outside, great salads are just right. A light meal that tastes particularly good in summer.

Do you actually know the difference between plums and plums? The plum is a subspecies of the plum. It is smaller and has an oval shape. The stone fruit also differs in color. The plum is blue-violet and has yellow flesh. The plum, on the other hand, comes in reddish, yellow, bluish and purple colors. The flesh is usually red. The plum has a sweet taste, whereas the plum tastes more sour.

With this in mind, let the sun shine on your face and have a really good time. In any case, there is no shortage of fresh products! Happy Shopping!
